Strangely the cat has 2 faces
A family in Oregon (USA) has just welcomed a bunch of kittens, including a special cat: There are 2 faces on 1 head.
Kyla King, the owner of a 2-faced cat who lives on a farm in Albany, said the 1-year-old mother cat gave birth to 6 kittens on Wednesday (May 20) and she was surprised to find one. I have 2 mouths, 2 noses and 4 eyes.
This rare phenomenon is a birth defect caused by duplicate craniofacial syndrome (in which the face is mirrored, as a result of joining between two separate fetuses). In ancient times, cats like this were called Janus cats – the name of an ancient Roman god with two faces.
The cat is always in the loving arms of the mother cat and enjoys the love from the owner and other family members. “Cookies and sauce” also has an extremely close friend, a teddy cat, who often plays when away from mother’s arms.
